Shawl calado / Summer Lace Sampler

Estoy participando en mi primer KAL. Estoy haciendo un shawl calado. Como su nombre (en inglés) lo indica, es un sampler, o muestrario de puntos calados. Ideal para mi que me aburro rápido, cuando me empecé a hartar de un punto, ya hay que cambiarlo.

I'm doing my first KAL: a sampler lace shawl. Ideal for me, since I bore easily: as soon as I'm starting to feel I've had enough of a lace pattern, off we go to a different one. Lace Wonderland it is.


En general, voy bien. Aunque algunos errores son terribles, obvios, inmensos, ya aprendí a quererme mucho (ja, ejem, nada) así que no los veo, no los veo, no los veo (repetir doscientas mil veces más).

I'm doing OK. Some mistakes I made are glaring, obvious, huge... I've learned to love myself though (err, gloss over, please, nothing to see here) so I don't acknowledge them. I don't. I don't. I don't (repeat two hundred thousand times)

Le habían puesto un nombre, aunque para mí, parece la cola de una ballena (¡no me mirén así!)

It had been given some name by the KAL group. I, however, think it's a whale tail (hey, don't look at me like that!)

Lindo, no? Parecen hojas subiendo por un tutor.

Nice, uh? Looks like leaves, or a vine.

En este punto, mucha gente decía ver que formaban personitas, otros decían angelitos... yo digo que... estaban tejiendo mucho, y que el vino no es amigo del calado... digo, nomás...

At this poing, people were seing little lace people, others were seeing angels... to me... I think lots of lace and wine do not mix well. Just saying, you know?

A veces me pregunto qué hacen mis amigos en su casa durante el fin de semana. Para que no sufran las mismas acuciantes dudas, y como una foto vale más que mil palabras, acá les muestro lo que hice yo:

Adivina adivinador / What is this?

¡Y yo que nunca más iba a tejer una bufanda! / To think I was never to knit another scarf...

No pude evitarlo, ni tampoco pude imaginar qué hacer con una sola madeja de Manos... así que me tejí una bufanda nomás.
Acá está, les presento My So called scarf II.

Could not help myself, and then again, what to do with only one skein of Manos... so I did indeed make another scarf.

Especificaciones técnicas:

Hilado: Manos del Uruguay, 100% lana, color oliva

Agujas: 8 mm

Punto: herringbone

Tech stuff:
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay, 100% pure merino, olive colorway
Needles: 8 mm
Stitch: herringbone

Conclusión: queda preciosa, muy suave al tacto y en un color muy tranquilo, podría ser un buej reglao varón tranquilamente.

Summing up: beautiful scarf, so soft and the colorway is very subtle. It could be a good present for a male.

Errr, Pancho no opina lo mismo / Pancho does not think so.
