Feria de artesanías / Handmade Fair

Hoy fui a la Feria de Artesanías que se hizo en la Rural. Había muchas cosas lindas, pero personalmente me dediqué a lo lanar.
Today I visited this year handmade stuff fair. There were plenty of beautiful stuff, though I beelined for the fibery area.


La idea era comprar un par de agujitas y un poquitín de lana, sólo si algo me gustaba mucho. Ejem. Vean foto.
I went with the idea of getting some dpns and a little, tiny, bit of wool, only if there was something I really enjoy. Well... see the pic below:




Digamos que no fue exactamente lo que había planeado. Gasté mucho, mucho más de lo esperado, pero creo que compré lindas cosas a buen precio.
Let's say it was not exactly what I'd planned. I spent way over what I had set aside, but I still think I got good stuff at a good price.

Vamos por partes? Let's break it down:

La madeja que está en el medio, robando cámara descaradamente, es lana de oveja de dos hebras, hilada y teñida a mano en Catamarca. Me gustó muchísimo el color, las variaciones que tiene el teñido.
The hank you see in the middle, just pushing to get out of the picture, is pure wool, two ply, hand woven and hand dyed in Catamarca (a northern province in my country). I love the color, how it varies within the hank.


Acá la ven entre mis dedos para determinar la escala. Bastante gordita. (y como vemos, parce que necesito alguna clase de fotografìa y un buen humectante de manos! Qué le vamos a hacer!)
Here it is held by me so you can see the weight, which is quite interesting (and we can also see I could use some photography lessons and some hand mosturizer, what are you gonna do!)





La primer madeja de la izquierda, es llama natura, hilada a mano en dos hebras y bastante finita, la compré con la idea de tejer un chal en algún momento.
The first hank on the left, is natural llama, two ply, pretty thin. It's also hand woven. I bought it to knit a shawl some day.

Finalmente, otra madeja de llama, también de Catamarca y de dos hebras. En partes de la madeja, hay una mezcla de dos colores: marrón chocolatoso y manteca. Casi comestible!
Finally, the rightmost hank, is also llama from Catamarca, two ply, hand woven. It's not dyed, but you can see how in some pictures there are two colores plied together, a chocolatey brown and cream. Yummy, good enough to eat.
