Cardigan Magenta

¡Tarán!

¡Acatá! Ter-mi-na-do. Mi primer top down, en circulares.

So here it is. Finished! Mi first top down in circular needles. Ow, what a pleasure not having to sew a single stitch! How comes in so many years of knitting I had never tried this technique?

I'm particularly proud of the shaping: biggie on top, smaller at the waist, way bigger at the hip, you know.

What I would not do again is highlighting the sides like this. I thought it would be decorative, but now I don't like it. It's just a detail though, doesn't affect the overall satisfaction level.

Nada mal, no?
Also, besides learning how to knit top down, I decided to knit the sleeves in the round too, so I had to use the magic loop thing. I was not happy about it, every time I tried it in the past I ended up abandoning the technique, I found it terribly difficult and hard. So I stared on sleeve and after a few rounds I started shifting the needle position and the knitting, I realized that it's always been hard because... I've been doing it wrong! That's how I learn, by doing.
So I learnt two things from this cardi. Not bad, uh?

I don't know what do you think, me dear audience. I quite like it.

GRRR
Side note: don't you sometimes find the non knitters opinions are a bit different than ours? As I was trying this on, a friend saw me and offered his opinion: "This is to go around the house, right? Sic. The sad thing is that he was not just kidding me, he was trying to be helpful. At my look of bewilderment, he felt compelled to elaborate: "no, it's all right, it's just that it looks like something that people would use in the country... like for milking goats or something, I don't know...". So there. Somebody please explain how does this city slicker know what a person would wear to milk goats... in a cotton/silk/lurex cardigan no less... GRRR

Las dejo porque tengo algo que hacer:
I'm off now to do this:

It's lovely work you did there, and you should be proud of yourself. I like the button you chose, too. Nice job.
